 2nd Greatest Game Ever
Back to Full Blog

Monday night, I watched the second greatest football game I have ever seen. If you have to ask what the best game ever is, you should stop reading. (Hint: "THE LATERAL!") The greatest game ever was great because one team brought to much, and Oklahoma could do nothing about it. Tonight, the game was great because the Bills suck, and the Cowboys waited until 2 minutes left to start playing. If tonight proved anything, it is the fact that Tony Romo is a very good quarterback, but is not yet the next Troy Aikman.

The first thing that entered my mind at the end of this weeks Monday night game, was how in the hell did Buffalo screw that one up. It is almost like this is the same team that blew four Super Bowls. It is almost like this team wasn't one of the worst in the NFL, and at the bottom of the weekly rankings. For 58 minutes on Monday night, the Buffalo Bills looked ready to turn around a season. They looked ready to show they could beat a good team. They looked like the Cardinals did for most of last years monday night game. Remind me, how did Arizona finish up the year last year? I am pretty sure the Cardinals coach was such a mess, and at that a funny mess, that he was turned into a commercial. But only after he was fired that is.

But back to the game that was much better than baseball. And for that reason, probably a huge killer for TBS. The Cowboys played a horrible offensive game for 58 minutes. However, what is being overlooked, is that the Dallas Cowboys defense played very well. The defense only gave up 3 points, of the total 24 scored by the Bills. Tony Romo's bad play for most of the game made the Cowboys look real bad as a whole, and that is not fair to a very good defense.

At halftime, I was upset because the Cowboys Patriots game next week was losing its luster. But now, it is once again the game of the year. Or at least the matchup of the year, because Monday nights game will be tough to beat. But the matchup between Dallas and New England will prove a lot about the current power structure in the NFL. Either New England will be the best team in the NFL by far, or the Patriots will fall back to the pack, creating a pretty even top five along with Dallas, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and...... Ok well maybe top 4. Either way, next week should say a whole lot about the NFL, and how it will shape up this year.
